Alright, let me get it out of the way… I will be going away for a little while. No, I’m not going to jail, and no one died – I just have some life-things I have to sort out. Since this is the third time I’m putting PHC on hiatus, I’m sure this shit’s getting old. Sorry about that. I will be back here as soon as I can. I honestly don’t know what form Paper Hero will be taking but the name and URL will be the same. Anyone who’s interested in checking in when I start up again, can follow me (john_rapone) on Twitter or Paper Hero Comics on Facebook. I’ll see you all soon.
Hey, all. Paper Hero will begin updating again on July 5th. I could go into an explanation of why, but I would assume that those of you who are here regularly don’t give a shit and just want the comic. I will tell you that we’ll be back on the 5th with our three-day/week schedule (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) plus one or two additions to our little f’ed-up family. I apologize for the inconvienence and I hope may of you find your way back on July 5th.
If any of you’d like a reminder, with out hearing all my bullshit on twitter, friend the Facebook page. I really only use that for updates and important stuff.
Had a great time at the convention. Met a lot of really wonderful people and saw a lot of art that made me want to chop off my left hand. I was just telling a friend of mine that the nice thing about Heroes is that it’s all comics. There’s no big media/gaming presence crowding the place, which makes for a very relaxed environment. Even Marvel, DC and Image didn’t have their big booths set up. That was definitely a factor in the laid-back attitude everyone had.
After the convention closed Friday night, Twenty-Two (a gallery/bar in Charlotte), hosted a party for the closing of SUPER: The Fine Art of Comics. It was a show they had featuring original comic art from some pretty big names in the industry.
This was probably one of the best conventions I’ve been to. Although, I haven’t been to a ton, I’ve gone to NY Comic Con four or five times and San Diego once – and this was, in my opinion, the best in terms of “comic” con. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance to attend. I wish I could go every year.

Heading off this Friday to Charlotte for the Heroes Convention. Unfortunately, at this stage in the game, it’s only as an attendee. This will be my first time there and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m flying down with my step-daughter and nephew. They’ll probably be running around Carowinds with my in-laws, enjoying the weather and getting tan, while I waddle around with fellow comic nerds for two days, like a pack of sweaty, pale, herbivores – but I cant wait.
